A GPS information providing method and a system thereof corresponding to a photographing event for realizing low-power design are provided to acquire GPS information about the photographing position by building interlocking environment between a GPS and a camera. A camera module(130) inputs an image of a subject. The camera module produces digital video data. An RFID reader requests the photographing event of the camera and requests the GPS information. A digital signal processor controls the operation of the RFID reader and camera module. A GPS module(230) produces a navigation message and a GSP module.
