DETECTION SENSOR SYSTEMS AND METHODS

Analyte detection systems and devices are provided. In one embodiment, a sensor initially reviews an assay, for instance a test strip, to designate a particular testing sequence. The sensor may calibrate the unit and then identify the particular testing sequence by identifying a color indicator on the test strip. The result is systems and methods to improve the detection of the presence and/or absence of at least one analyte in a sample.

1. An apparatus to identify a diagnostic sequence on an assay having an identification portion and to generate a test result from said assay, said apparatus comprising:
a. an optics board having a plurality of light emitting diodes emitting a illumination pattern reflected off said assay's identification portion; and b. an imaging detector aligned with said assay's identification portion and having a photodiode light-to-voltage converter with sensitivity to wavelengths of said light emitting diodes, wherein said imaging detector generates a voltage amplitude reflected off said assay's identification portion to identify said diagnostic sequence and signal said apparatus to perform said diagnostic sequence to generate said test result.
