This sliding member comprises: an alloy layer that is formed of an alloy having a predetermined shape; a binder resin that forms an overlay layer on the inner circumferential surface of the alloy layer, said inner circumferential surface coming into sliding contact with a counterpart member; and a graphite which is contained as a solid lubricant in the overlay layer and has a degree of graphitization of 90% or more.
