PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glow plug having a pressure sensor for suppressing the heater element thereof from becoming an overhead state.SOLUTION: A glow plug comprises: a rod-shaped heater element extending in an axial direction and exposed at its front end part to a combustion chamber; an inner shaft arranged on the rear end side of the heater element for feeding an electric power to the heater element; a housing for confining a portion of the heater element and a portion of the inner shaft in its own shaft hole; a connection member for connecting the heater element and the housing singly or together with another member; and a pressure detection element for detecting the combustion pressure of the combustion chamber from the axial displacement of the heater element with respect to the housing. Further comprised are: a ring for connecting the heater element and the inner shaft electrically; and a heat transfer part arranged in the ring between the rear end part of the heater element and the front end part of the inner shaft and contacting with the rear end part of the heater element and the leading end part of the inner shaft so that it has a thermal conductivity higher than that of air. |
