<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a glass plate dividing apparatus capable of efficiently performing work for dividing a glass plate to manufacture a substrate and carrying the obtained substrate to a carrying-out destination, and a glass plate dividing method.SOLUTION: A glass plate dividing method includes: glass plate carrying-in operation for carrying a glass plate M on which scribe lines Lx, Ly are formed to a carrying-in position on a belt conveyor 20a; dividing operation for dividing the glass plate M by applying pressing force along the scribe lines of the carried-in glass plate M; and divided glass plate carrying-out operation for carrying a divided glass plate S to a carrying-out destination. The dividing operation includes: a process for moving a pressing member 30 along the scribe lines to divide the glass plate; and a moving process for moving the pressing member 30 to a next position after finishing the dividing operation, and the divided glass plate carrying-out operation to the divided glass plate S can be simultaneously executed during the moving process of the pressing member.</p> |
