In order to improve operability when releasing a lock via a lock arm, a connector is provided with: a detection member (40), which is attached to a first housing (10) in such a manner as to be able to move between a detection position and a lock release position along a path that passes through an initial position, held at the initial position during a process for connecting housings (10, 60), and is permitted to move between the detection position and the lock release position when the housings (10, 60) properly connect; and a lock release part (57) that is formed on the detection member (40), and, in a state in which the housings (10, 60) are properly connected, elastically bends a lock arm (25) in a lock release direction during a process in which the detection member (40) moves from the initial position to the lock release position.
