The invention relates to aqueous dispersions which contain nanoscale ZnO particles and nanoscale particles of a metal oxide which is different from ZnO, a semi-metal oxide or oxysalt. These aqueous dispersions are used in aqueous binder systems, such as paints, adhesives, sealing compounds and binders to improve the solvent resistance of the dried or cured binder system and other properties.
