PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration capable of dispensing with or reducing switch operations to be performed by an operator at a time of start, alleviating workload following the switching operations, and improving work efficiency.SOLUTION: An information code reader 1 comprises: a three-axis sensor 43 (acceleration detector) that can detect an acceleration of a reader main body 1a in each of a plurality of directions set by the reader main body 1a in advance; a memory 35 (registration unit) registering a plurality of comparison conditions that are numerical conditions for comparison with detection results of the three-axis sensor 43 at a plurality of timing; and a control circuit 40 (start permission unit) that performs a predetermined starting operation if the detection result at each timing detected by the three-axis sensor 43 at the plurality of timing satisfies the respective plurality of comparison conditions registered in the memory 35. |
