Disclosed are a synchronous rectifier tube driving apparatus and method, relating to the field of power supplies for communications; the apparatus comprising: a detection circuit set to detect drain and source voltages of a synchronous rectifier tube to obtain a detection signal for indicating current direction in the synchronous rectifier tube; an isolated driving circuit set to generate an isolated driving signal for driving the synchronous rectifier tube according to the detection signal output by the detection circuit; and the synchronous rectifier tube set to use the isolated driving signal for the synchronous rectification of an input signal from a main transformer. The present invention can obtain the isolated driving signal of the synchronous rectifier tube in a simple and effective way, and has a superior protective feature in case of shoot-through and other abnormalities.
