PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vertical shaft construction method capable of constructing a structure constituting a vertical shaft while securing quality as designed.SOLUTION: A vertical shaft construction method includes: a first step S1 for constructing a soil-stopping wall from the ground; a second step S2 for performing underwater excavation of a region in the soil-stopping wall while maintaining a water level in the soil-stopping wall; a third process S3 for floating a steel shell body on the water surface inside the soil-stopping wall; a fourth step S4 for forming the body side wall of a vertical shaft body wall while adding a body side wall part in an atmosphere above the water surface; a fifth step S5 for filling the space between a bottom slab and a vertical shaft bottom surface and filling the space between the inner peripheral surface of the soil-stopping wall and the outer peripheral surface of the vertical shaft body wall; and a sixth step S6 for connecting end parts on the ground of the soil-stopping wall and the body side wall.
