PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus configured to prevent influence on image quality without requiring time and effort for separating a developing unit.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus includes: a developing unit c2 having a developing roller 2 for developing a toner image on a circumferential surface of a photoreceptor drum 1; and a toner container b for supplying toner to the developing unit c2. The image forming apparatus includes: a first moving unit 30 which has the developing unit c2 and moves between a proximity position where the developing roller 2 is close to the photoreceptor drum 1 and a separation position where the developing roller 2 is separated from the photoreceptor drum 1; and a second moving unit 40 which has the toner container b and tows the first moving unit 30 from the proximity position to the separation position. When the second moving unit 40 is positioned in towing standby position, a gap for preventing physical contact is formed with the first moving unit 30. |
