The present invention relates to a disease resistance-related gene CaChitIV (Capsicum annuum Chitinase class IV), a transgenic plant using the same, and a method for searching plant disease resistance. According to the present invention, the gene is a novel resistance-related gene interacting with pepper kinase CaPIK1 related to plant disease resistance, which has an advantage of being useful as a gene stock for efficient and effective molecular breeding for researches of defensive reaction of plants against attacks of pathogen and manufacture of disease resistant plant.
