A skirt liner 10 retention system includes secondary mounting means 16,26,28 that prevents the skirt liner falling or dropping onto a conveyor belt 30 when primary mounting means 12,32 fails through impact wear and use. The skirt liner secondary mounting means includes eye bolts 18 mounted to the rear of the skirt liner 10. These eye bolts have apertures 20 that align with slots 28 on the brackets 26 on the skirt segment 24.
