The present invention relates to a method for controlling an abnormal state in a wireless power receiver, and to this end, the present invention comprises the steps of: measuring the temperature according to a first period previously set; measuring the temperature according to a second period which is shorter than the first period if the measured temperature is over the temperature required to be monitored; determining whether the measured temperature is over the temperature for turning off a load switch; turning off the load switch if the measured temperature is over the temperature for turning off the load switch; determining whether the measured temperature is over a preset excess temperature after switching off the load switch; and informing a wireless power transmitter of an excess temperature state if the measured temperature is over the preset excess temperature.
