PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost necessary for monitoring the abnormality of livestock. SOLUTION: A livestock monitoring device 10 includes an obtaining part 11, a livestock data storage part 12, a detection part 13 and an announcing part 14. The detection part 13 reads ranking data and escape distance associated with identifiers obtained by the obtaining part 11 from the livestock data storage part 12. Then, the detection part 13 detects two livestock in the distance from other livestock within the range of the escape distance continuously for a certain period of time based on the ranking data, escape distance and positional information obtained by the obtaining part 11. The announcing part 14 informs a user of the possibility of the livestock in an upper rank being in a poor physical condition if it is determined that the livestock in the upper rank in the ranking data of the two livestock detected by the detection part 13 escapes from the livestock in a lower rank based on the positional information obtained by the obtaining part 11 and the ranking data read from the livestock data storage part 12.
