<p>The present invention relates to a method for operating a laser system in a Q-switch mode to generate at least two continuous laser pulse (p_1) trains. The laser system includes a laser resonator (1) having a laser medium (2) and an electro-optical modulator (EOM) (3). The EOM (3) includes an EOM crystal (9), and the EOM crystal (9) has a characteristic resonance time (t0) when having acoustic resonance. The EOM crystal (9) is driven by a modulator voltage pulse (pm) having a modulator voltage pulse duration (tm_1).
