Disclosed is a precision indexing conveyor 1 with a pair of pulleys 3,5 and a continuous timing belt 7. A plurality of pallets 9 are fixed, at spaced intervals, to the timing belt 7. A pair of pallet guide rails 15,17, engage a pair of grooves formed in the body of the pallets 9 to prevent side to side and upwards and downwards movement of the pallets 9 on the continuous timing belt 7 as the pallets traverse between the pulleys 3,5. In this manner, a continuous timing belt 7 may be used instead of a complicated chain link mechanism and the problems associated with chain link mechanisms, such as riding up over pulleys, are avoided. |
