PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem with a semiconductor laser module by a conventional fiber coupling method that an attempt to increase the output power of a fiber laser used for processing purposes results in the acting length of the fiber laser becoming extended and consequential loss of reliability, and a problem with a semiconductor laser module by a high luminance fiber coupling method using a special optical element that the cost of apparatus increases. SOLUTION: A plurality of semiconductor laser arrays 2 are arranged stepwise, in which the beams of laser light from the respective semiconductor laser arrays are collimated for both fast axis and slow axis, while only the fast axes are collectively concentrated using a condensing lens 5, and the resulting beams of light are combined into one by a fiber-optic array 6 composed of the same plurality of optical fibers disposed in the same pitch as the plural beams irradiated from the condensing lens. This makes it possible to provide a semiconductor laser module which is fiber-coupled at low cost and with high luminance. COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
