The present invention relates to a composition containing peptides derived from Spirulina maxima having amino acid sequences of LDAVNR or MMLDF as active ingredients for preventing or treating cardiovascular disorders. The peptides according to the present invention inhibit the generation of various cytokines, cell adhesion molecules, chemotactic factors, protein in signal transduction pathway, and active oxygen species which induce the onset and progression of cardiovascular disorders such as atherosclerosis. Therefore the present invention can be usefully used as a composition for preventing or treating cardiovascular disorders. In particular, the Spirulina maxima can be used long-term without toxicity and side effects since the Spirulina maxima is derived from nature, thereby can also be usefully used as a functional health food.
