<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a holder for a ball bearing by which torque reducing effect can be obtained by grease lubrication and the ball bearing. <P>SOLUTION: The holder 5 is constituted by forming semisphere shape pockets 12, 12 for housing balls 4 in opposed surfaces 11, 11 of two annular bodies 10, 10, making the opposed surface 11, 11 collide with each other to bonding the two annular bodies 10, 10. Outer diameter side convex parts 13 and inner diameter side concave parts 14 are formed in the one annular body 10, and inner diameter side convex parts 15 and the outer diameter side concave parts 16 of the other annular body 10 are formed. The outer diameter side convex parts 13 and the inner diameter side convex part 15 are engaged in an axial direction by inserting the outer diameter side convex parts 13 into the outer diameter side concave parts 16 and inserting the inner diameter side convex parts 15 into the inner diameter side concave parts 14. Engaging surfaces 15a of the outer diameter convex parts 13 and the inner diameter side convex parts 15 are inclined to the axial direction such that the wall thickness of the outer diameter side convex parts 13 and the inner diameter side convex parts 15 is thicker in the distal end sides than in the proximal end sides.
