The present invention relates to an automatic exhibition screensaver system using a divided differential image and to a driving method thereof which can drive an exhibit as a screensaver by sensing the motion of a human body through a divided differential image technique. The automatic exhibition screensaver system using a divided differential image according to the present invention, which controls the play action of an exhibit (300) by sensing the motion of a human body in an exhibit viewing area (VR), enables a normal exhibit to be converted into an experiential exhibit by including: a human body sensing unit (100) which obtains an image screen of the exhibit viewing area (VR), divides the image screen into multiple node images, calculates a differential image by comparing a difference between a current image and a previous image about each of the divided node images, and determines the motion of a human body by analyzing the result of the calculated differential image; and an exhibit screensaver driving unit (200) which replays the exhibit (300) if a human body is sensed in the exhibit viewing are (VR) through the human body sensing unit (100) and operates a screensaver on the exhibit (300) if a human body is not sensed.
