The present invention relates to a coated vehicle wheel for a railway vehicle. A coating layer is formed on the surface of the railway vehicle wheel′s body. The present invention uses elastic materials such as rubber, urethane or synthetic resin with excellent adhesion to form the coated vehicle wheel in overall except the tread unit of the vehicle wheel installed on the balance of the railway vehicle. The coating layer is formed to prevent the wheel from being damaged by the terrestrial heat and roadbed gravel and prevent the front and rear surfaces of the vehicle wheel except the tread unit from being directly exposed to the outside, thereby enabling the vehicle wheel to be used for an extended period of time and be easily maintained.
