PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an instrument whose functions actually used at a job site are not reduced and which enables the thinning thereof. SOLUTION: An instrument having a rotary switch and a rotary encoder which are arranged on the front face thereof in the vertical direction, displays a content which functions with a rotation of the rotary switch, with a plurality of luminous elements which are placed on the front face of the instrument and each of which is smaller than the diameters of the rotary switch and the rotary encoder.
