[Class 53] In an accumulator having a cover 15 with downwardly-extending wall 18 fitting within a container 10 so as to form a channel 20 for sealing compound, upward movement of the cover is prevented by holding-down members engaging the cover and the inner wall of the container in such a way that attempted upward movement increases the pressure of the engagement. In one arrangement, Fig. 1, the holding- down members are tack-like elements 21 having enlarged flat heads resting on the walls 18 and sharp-pointed ends 23'engaging the container wall. In a second arrangement, Fig: 2, resilient wires 26 engaging the cover flange 19 have bent pointed ends 29 engaging opposite casing walls. Bosses 31 may be provided on the flange 19 to keep the wires away from acid fumes seeping around the shoulder 25. |
