The present invention relates to a device for generating high purity hydrogen sequentially by a sorption enhanced water gas shift (SEWGS) reaction using a water gas shift catalyst fixed in a water gas shift reactor and a carbon dioxide absorbent which circulates in the device from synthetic gas generated by gasification of hydrocarbon fuel. The present invention not only can reduce costs of catalysts by using only one type of the water gas shift catalyst, but also can improve efficiency of the device because the water gas shift catalyst does not flow into a regeneration reactor and the capacity of the carbon dioxide absorbent can be improved to that extent.
