PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device that forms a three-dimensional image by which a new visual effect is obtained such that a target subject is seen in front of or behind a background image. SOLUTION: A subject extraction section 210 extracts a target subject from a difference between a subject presence image 810 that contains the target subject and a subject background image that does not contain the target subject but has the same other conditions. A three-dimensional image forming section combines the extracted target subject image with a display background image 830, and forms a left-eye image and right-eye image. In this case, the left-eye image and the right-eye image are different in the position of the target subject image relative to the display background image 830. Under the control by a display control section 500, a display section 600 displays the left-eye image and right-eye image so that the left-eye image is seen with the left eye of an observer and the right-eye image is seen with the right eye of the observer.
