443,332. Picture-mounts etc.; wordbuilding apparatus. BERNARDS, P., 1, Wilhelm Hauffstrasse, and OETTINGER, E., 2, Rheinstrasse, both in Friedenau, Berlin. July 3, 1935, No. 19076. [Classes 11 and 146 (ii)] Relates to apparatus for displaying cards, pictures, &c. of the kind in which the cards are slid through slits into windows or frames in a card-holding sheet and are retained by friction. The device, which is suitable for time-tables for school children, word-building apparatus, albums, &c., comprises a sheet divided into a number of card-holding frames or windowed compartments each having a card-engaging abutment, and cards provided with offset trailing ends, which engage the abutments when the cards are slid into position, so as to limit their movement. In one form, the sheet 1, Fig. 2, is cut out, to provide windows 13, and on the back are stuck panels 2, on which are pasted strips 4 to form sunken backings for the windows, offsets 7 on the insertion cards co-operating with abutments, which are formed by the ends of the strips 2. In a modification, the frames or windows are formed by depressing parts of the sheet between parallel slits 18, Fig. 3, so as to form the sunken backings. The insertion cards may be separate, or may be supplied in the form of a sheet, in which they are outlined by slits or scorings. |
