The present invention relates to a perfusion robot for exchanging liquids in a sample compartment of a sample holder. A perfusion system, a suction system and a motor is comprised which allow for spatially positioning the dispensing means of the perfusion system and suction means of the sucking system into several sample compartments of sample holder. A fully automated liquid exchange is facilitated such that a laminar flow is generated within the sample compartments. In an embodiment, a pumpless perfusion robot is provided which transports the liquids by means of gravity only. A perfusion is achieved in the sample compartments by a simultaneous dispensing and sucking of liquids such that an improved live cell imaging is possible when the perfusion robot is used in combination with an imaging system. In general, the perfusion robot of the present invention facilitates an exchange of media to increase the cell stability during a fully automated measurement process. |
