sending, by a processor of a calling endpoint device, a pre-defined signal to the communication network to enable a peer-to-peer communication mode on a per call basis, wherein the pre-defined signal is for requesting the communication network to stop processing a signaling message from the calling endpoint device; and proceeding, by the processor, with peer-to-peer communications using peer-to-peer signaling messages between the calling endpoint device and a called endpoint device. |
