An antenna apparatus comprising: a planar antenna element provided on a ground conductor; and first and second feed points provided at positions on the antenna element, respectively, wherein the antenna element is simultaneously driven through the first and second feed points so as to simultaneously operate as first and second antenna portions associated with the first and second feed points, respectively, wherein the antenna apparatus further comprises: a first extension conductor connected to a first section of an outer perimeter of the antenna element and along an entire length of the first section; first and second connecting conductors respectively connecting the antenna element to the ground conductor at first and second connecting points on the antenna element between the first extension conductor and the first and second feed points; a slit extending from the first extension conductor to the antenna element so as to intersect a portion between the first and second connecting points on the antenna element and to intersect a portion between the first and second feed points on the antenna element, the slit having a short-circuited end on the first extension conductor; and a second extension conductor connected to a second section of the outer perimeter of the antenna element and along an entire length of the second section, the second section being different from the first section, and wherein the slit extends from the first extension conductor through the antenna element to the second extension conductor so as to intersect the portion between the first and second connecting points on the antenna element and to intersect the portion between the first and second feed points on the antenna element, and the slit has the short-circuited end on the first extension conductor and has an open end on the second extension conductor.
