An intubation device comprises a movable guide configured to guide an insertion of an endotracheal tube into a trachea of a patient, the guide having a guide extension and a guide tip; an external trachea identifier source external to the trachea and disposed on the patient during an intubation, wherein the trachea identifier source generates and transmits a signal; at least one trachea condition sensor disposed on the guide tip to detect the signal generated by the trachea identifier source; and a guide control device operatively coupled to the guide, the guide control device configured to move the guide into the trachea in response to the detected signal.

An intubation device, comprising: a movable guide configured to guide an insertion of an endotracheal tube into a trachea of a patient, the guide having a guide extension and a movable guide tip; an external trachea identifier source external to the trachea and disposed on the patient during an intubation, wherein the trachea identifier source generates and transmits a signal; at least one trachea condition sensor disposed on the guide tip to detect the signal generated by the trachea identifier source; and a guide control device including a processor and operatively coupled to the guide, the guide control device automatically or semi-automatically moving the guide into the trachea in response to the signal generated by the trachea identifier source, wherein the processor determines movement of the guide based on the signal generated by the trachea identifier source; wherein the guide tip is configured to move in x, y, z space in response to trachea conditions detected by the at least one trachea condition sensor; wherein the guide control device further comprises: a motion manipulation unit to move the guide; anda controller to communicate with the trachea condition sensor and the motion manipulation unit; and wherein the guide is moved automatically by the motion manipulation unit via execution of a software program stored in the controller.
