[Class 83 (iv)] In cutting and bending wires 1, Fig. 1, for foundry use, the wire is inserted in a hole H in a block A against an end stop and a blade d freely pivoted on a pin d<1> after being lifted by a pin d<2> is swung to shear the wire by depression of a lever C. The wire is then placed in a slot E against an end stop and a roller C<2> sweeps the wire about the corner of the block A. The wire is removed again and the bent end of the wire is anchored about a pin b4 and the other leg of the wire is bent. |
