Method for determining of microbial contamination of aviation fuels consists of proper sampling, i.e. sampling from sites and parts of the system where the concentration of microbes is the greatest. A sample is evaporated on a slide (settling-vat water or aqueous extract), then 1-2 drops of a solution of ninhydrin (S9N6O4) are added to precipitate which was not evaporated from the slide, then a sample is covered with a glass and is heated, heating is performed until the appearance of the purple color in case of the presence of microorganisms, but not more than for 30 seconds. |
