A METHOD OF EARLY DIAGNOSIS OF DIFFERENTIATED THYROID CANCER RECURRENCE

A method of early diagnosis of differentiated thyroid cancer recurrence by means of scintigraphy. After 6 months of treatment, the level of thyroglobulin of a patient should be defined, if a value is greater than 2 ng/ml then ultrasound examination of a neck and whole body scintigraphy with 99mTs- (V) DMSA should be performed. The presence of thyroid tumor recurrence in a form of metastases in lymph nodes of a neck and/or lungs is diagnosed if thyroid tissue in the neck area and/or pathological fixation of radiopharmaceuticals in a thorax are visualized.
