A multifunction USB device capable of using a mass storage in a host personal computer, a USB function recognition system and a method thereof are provided to recognize the mass storage and the USB function in the host personal computer without mode conversion. At least one USB unit(114) supplies a USB function according to a mass storage and a USB protocol which is firstly recognized when a host connects a personal computer. The setup information corresponding to controllers is allocated in order to control the mass storage and the USB unit. A hub controller performs control operation in order to recognize the mass storage and the USB unit in the host personal computer at the same time.
