An apparatus for processing moving images is disclosed. The apparatus for processing moving images according to the present invention comprises: an image central processing unit which communicates with a host and parses moving image data inputted from the host to obtain parameter information or slice header information; and a plurality of image processors which process the moving image according to the parsed information under the control of the image central processing unit. The image central processing unit transmits moving image processing command signals to each of the image processing units, then receives moving image processing completion signals from all of the image processing units, and transmits signals for controlling postprocessing on the processed moving images to the image processing units.
