The present invention relates to a peptide specifically binding to histone H1 and the use thereof and, more specifically, to polypeptide specifically binding to histone H1 including an amino acid sequence represented by n-terminal-c-x1-x2-x3-x4-x5-x6-x7-c-c-terminal, a composition for detecting apoptotic cell including the polypeptide as an active ingredient, a composition for delivering drug including the same as an active ingredient and a composition for imaging including the same as an active ingredient. The peptide of the present invention targets apoptosis formed on tissues of tumor, myocardial infarction, stroke and atherosclerosis and, therefore being used for curing or preventing disease to selectively deliver drugs on the tissue of the disease by being combined with drug. Also, the peptide is used for imaging the reaction of the diagnosis and drug for disease by being combined with image materials.
