The present invention relates to a fitting for mounting electrical elements or the like with a rectangular prismatic body in horizontal and vertical supports which comprises a frame (5) with an outer transverse width corresponding with the width of the front groove (6) of the supports (2), with engaging formations (8) in the outer part of its transverse width, and having an opening (7) in which the rectangular prismatic body of the electrical elements or the like (1) is fitted, the electrical elements or the like (1) being able to be secured in the frame (5) by means of engaging tabs (9) that the rectangular prismatic body has on its wider sides, the normal mounting position of the electrical elements or the like (1) with a rectangular prismatic body being maintained when mounted on installation supports (2) located in a horizontal position or in a vertical position.
