The invention relates to a device for maintaining (1) a thin work panel (20), comprising both a network of vertical hydraulic cylinders (10) and a network of suction means (40) for retaining the panel (20) via suction. The hydraulic cylinders (10) carry rigid plates (18) articulated with one another in transverse rows and articulated with the cylinders via a connecting rod (16), with the exception of the central cylinder. Each plate (18) carries the suction means (40) by means of a mat which can occupy two states, namely: a relatively soft first state and a relatively rigid second state. Upon switching from the first state to the second state, the mat can substantially retain the shape that it took on in the first state, ensuring that the device of the invention adapts perfectly to the curved work panel (20). |
