The present utility model relates to a method of producing natural coffee pulp dye powder obtained by spray-drying the liquid extract of waste Coffea sp. (coffee) pulp. The pulp is a fibrous mucilaginous material obtained as waste product after removal of the beans during the processing of coffee beans from coffee berries. Its conversion into powder form prolongs its shell-life and reduces the preparation time during dyeing applications. The powder is utilized as dye to textile materials such as cotton, pineapple, pineapple-silk, silk, abaca fabrics. The colorfastness to washing and perspiration of coffee dyed textile materials were found acceptable and passed the standard value in terms of color change and staining.
|
