PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tuft carpet primary ground fabric in that the binding between fibers in the ground fabric is maintained and its morphological stability is held, even after the tuft process.SOLUTION: A tuft carpet primary ground fabric comprises a nonwoven fabric in which a long fiber having 10 dtex or more in single fiber fineness is used as a constituent fiber. The cross-sectional shape of the long fiber is a shape having a generally Y-shape in which lower ends are connected in each other from side to side and up and down (hereinafter, referred to as "generally Y4 shape"). The long fiber is a composite polyester long fiber in that each generally V shape portion in the generally Y4 shape is formed with a low melting point polyester, and the other generally plus shape portion is formed with a high melting point polyester. The fusion of the low melting point polyester results in binding between the long fibers. |
