On one of a holding component 2 and the optical waveguide component, a projection part 14A having an adhesive surface 14a to which an adhesive agent cured layer 12 adheres and a recess 7 which partitions the adhesive surface are provided at a position (at one place) remote from the optical waveguide substrate toward a thickness direction T of the optical waveguide substrate. The adhesive agent cured layer 12 is provided on the adhesive surface 14a, and a gap 8 is provided between an end surface 9a of a light input member 9 and an end surface 3a of the optical waveguide 3.
