MULTIPLE STRING TYPE THERMAL PRINTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer whose size can be downsized.SOLUTION: A multiple string type thermal printer 1 is configured by arranging plural print units 100 having a thermal head 161 for performing printing to a printed matter using an ink ribbon 3 in parallel. The plural print units 100 respective have a take-up holder 121 for taking up the ink ribbons 3, and the multiple string type thermal printer 1 is disposed so as to face to the ink ribbons 3 which are taken up by the plural take-up holders 121 of the plural print units 100. By contacting to outer peripheral faces of the plural ink ribbons 3 taken up by the plural take-up holders 121, the plural take-up holders 121 are rotated by a single take-up holder rotation body 31. A take-up holder moving part 122 moves the take-up holders 121 so that the outer peripheral faces of the ink ribbons 3 taken up by the take-up holders 121 of the print units 100 can press the take-up holder rotation body 31.
