PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing device and input support method capable of properly detecting a hover state.SOLUTION: A touch panel can detect the hover state of a user. A hover control unit 102 obtains a position from this state, a gesture control unit 103 obtains effect information according to the position, and an effect unit 106 provides an effect notification to the user according to the obtained effect information. This allows the user to properly recognize input to the hover state.
