WAVELENGTH MONITOR AND WAVELENGTH MONITORING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the sensitivity of a wavelength monitor.SOLUTION: A wavelength monitor 10 comprises: an incident part 20; a filter 30; and a detector 40. The incident part 20 causes the light from a plurality of light sources L1-L12 to enter a filter 30, so that the propagation angle of light is equal to a predetermined angle, when the light from a plurality of light sources L1-L12 propagates in the filter 30. The filter 30 has periodic transmission characteristics for the frequency of incident light. The detector 40 receives light transmitted the filter 30, and detects the intensity of transmitted light. According to the wavelength monitor 10, sensitivity of the wavelength monitor can be enhanced by decreasing the propagation angle of light propagating in the filter 30.
