An electronic device includes a processor, a memory, an embedded element storing information, and a short-range radio controller. The embedded element is readable by an external reader. The short-range radio controller is configured to receive a radio communication. If the short-range radio controller is being powered by a primary battery that powers the processor, the short-range radio controller is configured to route the radio communication to the embedded element if the radio communication is for accessing the embedded element, or route the radio communication to a component of the electronic device different from the embedded element if the radio communication is not for accessing the embedded element. If the short-range radio controller is not being powered by the primary battery, the short-range radio controller is configured to route the radio communication to the embedded element. |

1. An electronic device, comprising:
a processor configured to control operation of the electronic device; a memory storing one or more software applications executable by the processor; a short-range radio antenna; an embedded element storing information regarding the electronic device, wherein the embedded element is configured to be readable by a reader external to the electronic device; a short-range radio controller coupled with the short-range radio antenna, the short-range radio controller configured to:
receive a short-range radio communication;in a case where the short-range radio controller is being powered by a primary battery that is configured to power the processor:
determine whether the short-range radio communication is for accessing the embedded element;route the short-range radio communication to the embedded element in response to determining that the short-range radio communication is for accessing the embedded element; androute the short-range radio communication to a component of the electronic device different from the embedded element in response to determining that the short-range radio communication is not for accessing the embedded element; andin a case where the short-range radio controller is not being powered by the primary battery:
route the short-range radio communication to the embedded element. |
