SYSTEM AND APPARATUS FOR A SPLIT CASCADE

A split cascade comprises a fixed portion and a translating portion. The translating portion may be coupled to, mounted on, or otherwise attached to a translating sleeve of an aircraft nacelle. The fixed portion and the translating portion form a cascade assembly, in response to the translating sleeve being in the active position (e.g., when the thrust reverser is active). Moreover, the split cascade provides a smaller overall package when stowed (e.g., when the translating sleeve is in a forward position and seals or joins the nacelle), providing more room in the nacelle for access and equipment.

1. A cascade assembly for installation in an aircraft nacelle, comprising:
a first cascade portion fixed to a non-movable portion of the nacelle, wherein the first cascade portion comprises a bracket; and a second cascade portion fixed to a translating sleeve portion of the nacelle, wherein the second cascade portion comprises a catch, wherein the bracket is configured to receive the catch, in response to the translating sleeve being in a deployed position.
