The method comprises: in accordance with a service type of a charging service, determining a Diameter protocol field format corresponding to the service type; conducting Diameter protocol packaging on the charging-related information about the charging service in accordance with the Diameter protocol field format to obtain a Diameter protocol request message; and interacting with an online charging system in accordance with the Diameter protocol request message, and requesting the online charging system to conduct charging processing on the charging service. The embodiments of the present invention improve the efficiency of online charging.
