The application relates to enabling end-to-end QoS over a Trusted non-3GPP Access Network TNAN, in particular a Trusted WLAN Access Network TWAN as standardised in 3GPP under the "SaMOG" study item. Whereas in 3GPP Access Networks, QoS control information is signalled to the User Equipment UE when a new dedicated bearer is established, a corresponding mechanism is lacking for TWAN. This problem is solved in that a new signalling message (new message) between the TWAN Gateway TWAG (BNG/TWAG) and the UE is proposed which conveys said QoS control information (Signalling of QoS information and UL TFT) to the UE. This QoS control information comprises in particular uplink traffic filters, and mapping of IP-level QoS, such as IETF RFC 2474 DSCP, to radio QoS, such as User Priority defined by 802.11 radio. |
