An input device (1), which has multiple terminals for providing inputs to a touch panel, is equipped with: three direction detection contacts (81), which are protruding portions making contact with three locations on the touch panel and forming a triangular shape with vertices at the three locations; and at least one information discrimination contact (82), which makes contact with the three direction detection terminals and the touch panel, and the placement position of which with respect to the triangular shape enables specific information displayed on the display panel to be discriminated.
